Elmstead
Hall is a handsome, 13th century listed manor house that stands on a site which
is first mentioned in the Domesday Book. There
are many legends and tales concerning the hall and the neighbouring church.
The Hall is set in 430 acres of prime Essex
countryside, with gardens and orchards full of wild life, making it a wonderful
location.

A Garden party atmosphere awaits you and your guests as you enjoy a traditional marquee on the lawn, with a perfect backdrop.

http://elmsteadparishchurch.org/. The Chancel, the Nave and what is termed the south tower were built about 1310. The South Chapel and the chancel arch date from about 1340 parts of the Nave may be earlier.. In recent years an old Norman doorway was discovered and this is now one of the exhibits of the church.
The Mitchell family have resided in the hall since 1919 when William Learmonth Mitchell farmed the land.
